Voluntary training

The team of the Rex Dog Home Foundation dared to dream big! The aim was to ensure the harmonious coexistence and cooperation of man — animals and man.  The aim of the change is to be able to cooperate much more effectively and harmoniously.

The aim of our voluntary training is to take the Volunteers of Rex Animal Island to a higher level professionally, thus helping the chances of adopting animals that are up for grabs.

Structure of the training: new goals, new operation, concept of volunteering, description of the policy, accident prevention training, professional training related to dog walks, dog communication.

At the end of the training, a legal relationship is established between the applicants and the Rex Dog Home Foundation by signing the declaration of participation, which is a condition for volunteering.

How can the Volunteer help?

Regularity is important in volunteering, which is a minimum of 2 times a month.

Care for animals:

• It is in the interests of our animals to learn about the concept of socialization, which they can learn through regular occupation. Activities in this topic: grooming fur, playing, walking dogs, training in dog school, etc.
• Cleaning and repairing the run-ins and walking areas is an important task for the comfort and health of the animals housed in the shelter.
• It is a great help to sort, repair and clean carriers and other tools and equipment.

To help the Foundation operate:

• We organize several events every year and participate in several external on-site events, so we desperately need help in preparing and conducting events and fundraising campaigns.
• Thanks to our selfless supporters, we also receive many tangible donations, but not all our supporters can send them to us, so the purchase, transportation, organization and packing of donations is a great help for us.
• One of the missions of Animal Island is to educate and raise awareness of responsible animal husbandry. We are also waiting for the help of enthusiastic volunteers in education, camping and working with children.

Temporary reception of animals:

• The shelter's places are also finite, so it is very important that we have temporary hosts as well! In many cases, it is of great help to us if there are volunteers who take on animals temporarily. Whether it is a puppy, an adult, or an animal requiring increased supervision and care. Of course, the foundation bears the costs of supplying the animal.

Advertising, propaganda:

• You can help promote the work and events of the Foundation by sharing the event on social media, or by putting up some posters and handing out some leaflets where you have the opportunity (workplace, family, circle of friends, school).

As you can see, there are many areas where we are counting on the help of volunteers, and we have not yet listed all of them here. If you feel like it, fill out the voluntary application form, which is subject to:

Age of majority, ability to act, and between the ages of 16 and 18, completed parental consent, in original.

A parent applying with a child, can only volunteer with a child over the age of 8, at his own risk, and cannot hold a child leash even in the presence of a parent, but can only accompany the adult volunteer.

We can prepare a special offer for programs that can be done with children in case of a written request, which can be requested at the address oktatas@rex.hu.

Voluntary training:

We hold our trainings on a monthly basis, which you can apply for here on the website. If there is no application form access option, the advertised opportunity for that month is full. For a new occasion, the application form is available from the beginning of the month preceding the program. That is why we ask you to keep track of the website so that you can apply for the next time. Everyone is welcome!

Our volunteer trainings are held outdoors, so weather-appropriate clothing is recommended. We ask participants to use masks. Thank you very much.
